Common questions
Frequently asked about rates and insurance
Does insurance cover couples therapy?
No. Insurance only covers individual therapy, so couples and family sessions are private pay. Financing is available through CareCredit and Pay in 4 for packages and intensives.
How do I know what my insurance will cover?
Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your mental health benefits. We can also help you verify your benefits before your first session.
Why do you recommend 90 minutes for couples and families?
90 minutes gives both partners, or every family member, time to be fully heard, which is hard to do in 50 minutes. It also allows for deeper work each session.
Can I use CareCredit or Pay in 4 for regular sessions?
CareCredit and Pay in 4 are for therapy packages and intensives. For individual sessions billed through insurance, your normal copay or deductible applies.
What is a superbill, and can I get one?
A superbill is an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. We can provide one on request for private pay sessions.
How do I know if I qualify for sliding scale?
Bring it up during your free 15-minute consultation, and we'll have an honest, judgment-free conversation about what's possible. Availability varies by clinician and is limited.
Good Faith Estimate notice: Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before your first session. Ask us for yours at any time.
