Corporate training, speaking, and coaching
Your team does not have a performance problem. It has a conversation problem.
We train leaders and teams to say the hard thing well, using the same systemic method Roma Williams, LMFT-S, has used with families and executives for more than fifteen years. Built on her book, Unload It, and delivered on site, virtually, or on your conference stage.
Why this work pays for itself
Poor communication is not a soft cost. It shows up on the balance sheet.
Most leadership training teaches people what to say. We teach them what is happening underneath, so the words hold up when the conversation gets hard.
$1.2T
Estimated annual loss to U.S. businesses from poor workplace communication.
$2.7B
Lost every single day to reduced productivity and absenteeism tied to workplace incivility.
Services
Four ways we work with organizations
Nothing here comes off a shelf. These are the shapes an engagement can take. What actually goes in the room gets built after we talk, around your team, your industry, and the conversations your people are currently avoiding.
Half day or full day
Keynotes and workshops
A single session that gives your people language they can use the same afternoon. Interactive, research backed, and built around real scenarios from your workplace. Topics we are often asked for:
- The conversation your managers keep postponing
- Correcting performance without losing the person
- What a leader does after they get it wrong
- Holding a team steady through change and restructuring
Best for all-hands, leadership retreats, ERG programming, conference stages
Four to six sessions
Multi-session leadership series
A cohort of your managers works one step of the framework at a time, practices it between sessions, and comes back with what actually happened. This is where behavior changes, not just vocabulary.
- Cohorts of 8 to 20 leaders, virtual or on site
- Live practice, not lecture, with scenarios sourced from your team
- Between-session assignments and manager accountability
- Closing session with your executive sponsor on what to hold going forward
Best for new manager cohorts, high-turnover teams, post-merger integration
Ongoing, by engagement
Executive one-on-one coaching
Private work with a senior leader on the specific relationships and conversations carrying the most weight. Confidential, direct, and focused on what changes on Monday.
- Communication and conflict patterns, mapped and named
- Preparation and debrief for high-stakes conversations
- Team dynamics read through a systemic lens
- Sponsored by the organization or engaged privately
Please note, coaching is not therapy and does not create a clinical relationship

How this works
Every session is built after we talk, never before
You know your team better than any training catalog does. So we start with a conversation about what is actually happening, and the session gets built from what you tell us.
First
The discovery call
You tell us what is going on and what you want to be different. We listen for the part underneath it. No charge, no obligation.
Then
We design it
You get a proposal with a format, a scope, and a quote, built on what you told us. Real scenarios from your workplace, not stock examples.
Then
We deliver it
On site or virtual. People practice the conversation in the room, because watching a slide about a hard conversation has never once made one easier.
After
What holds
We close with what your leaders keep doing once we leave, and who owns it. A session with no follow-through is an expensive afternoon.
The method
The eight steps behind every session
This is the framework from Unload It. It is a sequence, and it works in that order. Your team learns it once and uses it in performance reviews, client escalations, and the conversation happening in the parking lot.
- Step 01Understand the Trigger
- Step 02Name the Need
- Step 03Listen to Learn
- Step 04Own Your Role
- Step 05Ask with Curiosity
- Step 06Deliver Your Message
- Step 07Invite Collaboration
- Step 08Take Next Steps
The book
Put the same language in every person's hands
Unload It is the foundation of every training we run. Teams that read it first move faster in the room, because nobody is starting from scratch on what a trigger is or why a need has to be named before it can be met.
Conferences and events
Copies for attendees, with signing time at your booth or after the keynote.
Leadership programs
One copy per participant, paired with the multi-session series or read on its own.
ERGs and book clubs
Volume orders with a discussion guide and an optional virtual author session.
Client and staff gifts
Signed and personalized copies, shipped to one address or many.
For event organizers
Communication is a skill. Your people can learn it.
Most leaders were never taught this one and quietly assume they should already have it, so they never practice it. Roma teaches it the way you would teach any other skill that matters. You pick the format that fits your event, and the session gets built around what your people are actually dealing with. Faith-informed, never faith-imposing, and always culturally affirming.
Potential formats
Keynote
45 to 60 minutes
Workshop

Breakout
60 to 90 minutes
Panel or fireside
Moderated, any length
What your people walk out able to do
The result: fewer avoided conversations, less unnecessary conflict, stronger managers, and teams that know how to address problems before they get bigger.
About
Roma Williams, LMFT-S
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, and I have spent more than fifteen years in the room where the hardest conversations happen. Couples on the edge of ending it. Families repeating a pattern three generations deep. Leaders who can run a P and L but cannot tell a direct report the truth.
What I learned there is that the skill is the same everywhere. Systems, whether a family or a leadership team, break down in predictable ways, and they can be repaired in predictable ways. That is what I bring into your organization: not a set of communication tips, but a working understanding of why people stop talking to each other and what actually gets them started again.
I wrote Unload It to put that method in people's hands. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Family Therapy, and my work has been featured in Essence, Today, and Bustle.
- Licensed MFT in Texas, California, Georgia, and Florida
- AAMFT Approved Supervisor
- Author of Unload It, now in its second edition
- Founder of Unload It Therapy, a Texas based practice
- Has spoken for The Wise Practice Conference, Legacy Wellness, and Ajita M. Robinson
- Fifteen years of private work with executives and senior professionals
- Featured in Essence, Today, and Bustle
Before you reach out
Questions we get from HR and L and D teams
Is this therapy for our employees?
No. Training and coaching are educational and professional services. They do not create a therapist and client relationship, no clinical records are kept, and nothing said in a session is treated as clinical care. If someone needs therapy, we will tell you and point them to the right resource.
How far in advance should we book?
Reach out as soon as you have a date in mind. A keynote or workshop can often be scheduled on shorter notice. A multi-session series needs more lead time, because we build it around your team rather than pulling it off a shelf. If your date is tight, ask anyway and we will tell you honestly whether it works.
Do you travel?
Yes. We travel nationally for on-site sessions and conference stages. Every offering is also available virtually, which works well for multi-site and remote teams. Travel is quoted separately from the session fee.
Can we combine a training with a book order?
Yes. Tell us your headcount when you reach out and we will quote the session and the books together, rather than sending you two separate conversations.
How do you handle sensitive topics in a mixed room?
Carefully, and with ground rules set before we start. Our work is culturally affirming, and it is faith-informed rather than faith-imposing. Nobody is asked to disclose anything personal in front of colleagues.
What do you need from us?
A short discovery call, a sense of what your people are struggling with, and an internal sponsor who can tell us the truth about the culture. That call is free and there is no obligation attached to it.
